STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Three
AN ACT relative to postponing the closure of the Sununu Youth Services Center.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Sununu Youth Services Center Closure. Amend 2021, 91:329 to read as follows:
91:329 Findings; Sununu Youth Services Center. The general court finds that the current Sununu youth services center shall be closed no later than [March 1] June 30, 2023 and the opening of a replacement facility shall occur no later than [March 1] June 30, 2023.
2 Appropriation; Continuation of Operations of the Sununu Youth Services Center. The sum of $1,500,000 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023 is hereby appropriated to the department of health and human services for the purpose of continuing operations at the Sununu youth services center through June 30, 2023. The governor is authorized to draw a warrant for said sum out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.
3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect upon its passage.

METHODOLOGY:
This bill extends the closure date of the Sununu Youth Services Center (SYSC) from March 1, 2023 to June 30, 2023, and likewise postpones the deadline for a replacement facility to June 30, 2023. The bill provides a $1.5 million general fund appropriation for the purpose of funding the SYSC's operations for another four months.
