STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Three

 

AN ACT relative to the emergency management powers of the department of transportation.

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  New Paragraph; Department of Administrative Services; Homeland Security and Emergency Management; Municipal Emergency Response Team.  Amend RSA 21-P:37 by inserting after paragraph VI the following new paragraph:

VII.  To assemble and mobilize a municipal emergency response team in conjunction with the department of transportation, to assist municipalities by providing resources during, and immediately after, a natural disaster.

(a)  A natural disaster may include but is not limited to flood, tornado, fire, and explosion.

(b)  Resources may include but are not limited to sand, gravel, signs, barriers, trucks, and equipment.

(c)  Members of the municipal emergency response team shall be designated from existing staff in the department of safety and the department of transportation.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
