Personal Biography
Rep. Matt Wilhelm has spent his career recruiting, developing, and uniting diverse teams – board, staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders – to identify challenges, develop solutions and strategy, and work for change. He grew up in Nashua, received his B.A. in communications and political science at Plymouth State, and then joined City Year New Hampshire as an AmeriCorps team leader in high-need, under-resourced public schools. Matt earned his master's of public administration at the University of New Hampshire's Carsey School of Public Policy and has spent more than a decade working in the nonprofit sector. He currently serves on the boards of Volunteer NH and Calling All Crows and chaired NH's Service Year Workforce Commission during the 2019-2020 legislative session. Matt and his wife, Jody, operate a dormitory-style housing complex for AmeriCorps members in downtown Manchester. They are proud parents to Ben (age 8) and Rosie (age 5), Spencer (cat), and Hope (new puppy).
