Personal Biography
I am a New Hampshire native, originally from Hampton where my parents built Brownie's Motel at the beach. My wife of 29 years hails from Laconia and we both currently live in Bristol. We have 4 children and 5 grandchildren, 7 of which have attended SAU4 Newfound Schools. I have worked a wide variety of types of jobs including gas station attendant, motorcycle assembler, hardware store clerk, school bus driver, and more. My family moved to Bristol in 1974 and owned and operated a cottage colony on Newfound Lake. After graduating with a degree in Biology in 1977, I volunteered as a member of the Bristol Call Fire Department from 1979 to 1989 and operated the Bristol Wastewater Treatment Facility from 1978 - 1980. From 1980 to 1988, I pursued a career in music traveling the northeast area of the country. Finally, in 1989 I started work at the NH Dept. of Environmental Services remaining there for 29.5 years working in a myriad of different disciplines including wastewater, hazardous waste site assessment and sampling, emergency response and, my favorite, Oil Spill Contingency Planning, eventually retiring in 2018. Never going too far from my love of performing music from I have continued to perform part-time - 1989 to the present as a musician in the central area as a "one-man band", the "Solitary Man". My wife and I love to take our travel trailer and enjoy the outdoors; one of our favorite spots is up in Pittsburg NH. We love the NH "live free or die" way of life!
