It shall be the duty of the Committee on Public Works and Highways to consider all matters pertaining to the development and repair of public highways; the Highway Fund; the Turnpike Fund; buildings and capital construction; the capital budget; matters pertaining to state bonding authority; capital expenditures related to the improvement and preservation of the coastline; the care of state memorials and monuments; and such other matters as may be referred to it.

Personal Biography
I grew up in Keene and have lived in Swanzey since 2005.
I was educated in Keene schools, Phillips Exeter Academy, Harvard University (BA and Masters in City Planning) and Suffolk University Law School (JD).
I have worked as a town planner (Needham, Mass.), transportation planner (Mass. DOT), transportation planning project manager (Cambridge Systematics and Jacobs Engineering), and have been practicing law (land use, probate) since 2004.
I served in the US Army Reserve (Sergeant E5, Infantry) from 1971 to 1977.
I have two grown children who live near Boston, and five grandsons.
My wife, the former Carol Orgaz, and I have been married 49 years.
Local Government Involvement
22 years as an elected member of the Arlington, Mass. representative town meeting.
20 years as a member of the Arlington, Mass. Redevelopment Board (special permits, site plan review, management and reuse of surplus town and school property).
3 1/2 years as a member of the Monadnock Regional School Board, one year as chair.
Miscellaneous Information:
Co-owner (with brothers) of 410 acres of farm and forest land, most under conservation easement.
Sixth generation to serve in the NH House of Representatives.
