STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Four

 

AN ACT relative to the official pronunciation of "New Hampshire" and "Concord."

 

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

 

1  New Section; State and Capital Pronunciation.  Amend RSA 3 by inserting after section 30 the following new section:

3:31  State and Capital Pronunciation.  The proper pronunciation of New Hampshire shall be (/nu:'hæmp??r/) as written in accordance with the International Phonetic Alphabet. The correct pronunciation of Concord shall be (/'k??k?rd/) as written in accordance with the International Phonetic Alphabet.

2  Effective Date.  This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.??????????????????
