House Committee Information
Committee Function:It shall be the duty of the Committee on Ways and Means to examine and consider the state of the treasury; to consider and report on all bills and resolutions relating to raising money by a state tax and the apportionment of same; matters relating to taxes and fees on tobacco; all dedicated funds except for the highway and turnpike funds; state fees, and all methods of raising revenue for the state; and such other matters as may be referred to it. The Committee on Ways and Means shall report to the House in the form of a resolution its estimates of state revenues on a periodic basis.

Worked 25 years in food crop agricutlture and rural development mostly in Africa and Latin America, as a socio-economist, in project evaluation, budgeting, and operation, bringing together farmers, researchers, extension programs and national and international institutions. Moved home to New Hampshire and joined the state legislature, specilizing in taxation, budgeting and evaluation as well as substance abuse prevention/ treatment and condominium associations.

Miscellaneous Information:
On ACLU-NH board for 20 years, chair for 6. Have run my homeowners' association 19 years with a 5 year break, and four years on a medium sized, well run condo board. Kayak and snowshow when I can make time. One sister and her family remain part time in New Hampshire.
