The following guidelines will help you configure your PC, so that you can listen to the New Hampshire General Court's streaming audio/video.

  • The New Hampshire General Court has been streaming audio/video of the House and Senate sessions since December, 2002.  Our server presently uses Windows Media Services v9.0.

  • Windows Media Player logoVersions 6.4, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 of the Windows Media Player can be used to listen to the streaming audio/video.  You can obtain this (free) software from Microsoft.
  • Real Player logoReal Player version 10 or higher can be used to listen to the streaming audio/video.  You can obtain this (free) software from Real Networks
  • Firewall software on PC's or servers may prevent you from listening to the audio/video stream.  If your network uses a proxy server to access the Internet, your systems administrator may have to open port 1755 to allow you to connect to listen to the audio/video stream.  If you have firewall software enabled on the PC used to listen, check to ensure that it is allowing the audio/video stream through.
