ANALYSIS
This bill proclaims May 13, 2021 as youth franchise and youth officeholder day in New Hampshire, in honor of the 50th anniversary of New Hampshire’s ratification, on May 13, 1971, of the 26th Amendment to the United States Constitution which granted the right to vote to 18-21 year olds and made 18-21 year olds eligible to hold office in the state.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty One
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
30:1 Youth Franchise and Youth Officeholder Day. The governor shall proclaim May 13, 2021 as youth franchise and youth officeholder day in New Hampshire, in honor of the 50th anniversary of New Hampshire’s ratification, on May 13, 1971, of the 26th Amendment to the United States Constitution, which granted the right to vote to 18-21 year olds and made 18-21 year olds eligible to hold office in the state. The proclamation shall highlight and celebrate young voters and young elected officials.
30:2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
