The UNH Masters in Public Health Program invites Senators to attend “Successful Collaborations in Public Health: The Work of NH Local Health Officials Standards and Workforce Competencies Advisory Committee to Establish a Voluntary Credentialing System for New Hampshire’s Local Health Officers,” featuring Kevin Flanagan, MPH, Health Management Representative, NH Local Government Center.
This important session will be held Tuesday, October 21st, 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Town Hall, 148 Main St., Lincoln, NH.
Attendees will learn about recommendations to establish a voluntary credentialing system for New Hampshire’s local Health Officers; the mechanics of a successful public health collaboration by examining the work process of the Local Health Officials Standards and Workforce Competencies Advisory Committee; and how involving the right mix of stakeholders leads to successful public health initiatives.

Legislators are invited to attend the first New Hampshire Legislative and Business Summit on Work and Family, Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at the Holiday Inn in Concord, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This important educational event and statewide dialogue will include business and community leaders, legislators, academics, labor representatives, work/family advocates and will feature local and national leaders, as well as the latest research on work/family issues. The summit is sponsored by the Legislative Task Force on Work and Family, in collaboration with the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension, Carsey Center and the NH Department of Employment Security.
