9:00 a.m. HB 596, establishing a uniform education property tax, a service tax, a motor vehicle sales tax and a utility property tax, expanding and increasing the rate of the meals and rooms tax, and increasing the cigarette tax, business profits tax, real estate transfer tax to provide funding for an adequate public education and making an appropriation therefor; and making technical corrections to certain laws administered by the department of revenue administration and increasing the rate of the communications tax.
